Northville Tudor Exterior Painting | Natural Tan & Studio Clay Refresh
August 27, 2025 at 2:30 PM
Northville Tudor exterior painting by Chromabrush Painting using Sherwin-Williams Natural Tan siding and Studio Clay trim

The Challenge

This Tudor-style home had held up for decades, but it was showing its age. Trim damage, worn caulking, and a faded color scheme left it vulnerable to the elements and in need of a refresh. The homeowners wanted to keep the timeless Tudor look but update it with subtle, classy colors and long-lasting protection.

Our Process

Every great paint job begins with thorough preparation. For this project, our team:

  • Completed a full soft wash to clean the surfaces
  • Scraped, sanded, and caulked to seal gaps and protect from weather
  • Repaired rotted trim for a stronger, cleaner finish
  • Applied two coats of Sherwin-Williams Duration paint on every surface

We don’t cut corners. No skipped steps, no single coats, no miscommunication — just honest craftsmanship and attention to detail.

The Color Story

The homeowners selected a refined, timeless palette from Sherwin-Williams:

  • SW 7567 Natural Tan (Low Luster) for the stucco siding — softening the old yellowish tint
  • SW 9172 Studio Clay (Satin) for the trim — a touch darker than before, adding modern contrast

The result is subtle but elegant, maintaining the Tudor character while giving the home a fresh, updated feel.

The Results

In just one week, this 40-year-old Tudor was transformed into a home that will shine for the next decade. With Sherwin-Williams Duration paint and proper prep, the exterior now has both curb appeal and protection from Michigan’s weather.
